Equipment and Human Based Research

Equipment testing and human based research is available to support the high tech industry. Established in 1999 the chamber has been utilized extensively as a research and testing tool for aviation, university and medical applications.

General Specifications

  • Double lock Multiplace Hyperbaric / Hypobaric Chamber
  • Overall length is 33’ with a diameter of 9’6”
  • 3 (three) vertical manways each measuring 67” by 33”
  • 12 (twelve) treatment/pilot stations in the main lock with 4 (four) treatment/pilot stations in the transfer lock. In addition, there are 2 (two) tender (medical attendant) stations in the main lock and 1 (one) tender station in the transfer lock.  All seating is within individual chairs each measuring 23” in width.
  • Treatment/flight gases include medical grade oxygen.
  • Environmental control includes specific regulation of temperature, humidity, dewpoint and ambient gas concentrations
  • Medical lock transfer capability
  • Six (6) 8” and two (2) 3” view ports
  • Continuous color video monitoring of treatment and transfer locks
  • Two (2) 12” bland flanges for future penetrator expansion and modification
  • Chamber treatment/flight protocols and all systems are completely computer managed including chamber control, operation and monitoring. The system can be quickly transferred to manual control and operation. All systems feature triple redundancy.

Hyperbaric Specifications

  • Treatment depth capability of 6 ATA with 8 ATA service depth. Capability of delivering all UHMS (Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society) and ACHM (American College of Hyperbaric Medicine) recommended clinical treatment protocols
  • Capability of delivering all UHMS, USN, (United States Navy), RAF (Royal Air Force), USAF (United States Air Force), COMEX and Catalina diving and clinical protocols

Hypobaric Specifications

  • Customized flight profiles
  • Altitude exposure capability to 100,000 feet
  • Rapid decompression capability from 10,000 feet to 32,000 feet in three (3) seconds
